We are a community based organisation formed to serve our people in the Kwa-Zulu Natal region.

A need to establish safe houses for the protection of the abused men, women and children is clearly needed at this point in time throughout the country.

Also identified is a need to shelter orphaned children infected with the HIV / AIDS virus.

The organisation was established in October of 1996 by a group of dedicated people who with a common vision saw the need. The members of the PEACE HAVEN COMMUNITY SERVICES committee are all longstanding residents of the area and have served the community over the years in various ways.

1. The Lighthouse Crisis Centre is situated in Verulam, North of Durban, and is a safe haven for abused people. Peace-haven offers a unique service in that it provides counselling and crisis housing for the abused victim.
   
2. Food for Life Ministries assist in alleviating poverty in stricken areas of the afformentioned Magisterial areas by distributing food parcels to the needy.



3. Empowerment Education Programmes educate people into becoming self-sufficient, thereby alleviating poverty further.
   
4. Men for Equality empowers men by enlightening them to be better fathers and husbands. Accordingly, this programme addresses the problem of domestic violence.




5. Light House Strikers Football Club encourages the youth from disadvantaged communities from partaking of alcohol, drugs and other addictive substances.
   
6. Finally, P.H.C.S is involved in fund-raising in order to raise monies to open an orphanage and Hospice for AIDS stricken people and other related projects.
