Humble Beginnings

Peace-haven services the Magisterial District of Inanda, which includes inter-alia the following areas: Inanda, Durban North, Ntuzuma, La Lucia, Sunningdale, Somerset Park, Prestondale, Umhlanga, Mount Edgecombe, Tongaat and Verulam.

• To offer relief to those in desperate need.
• To offer relief in respect of the following areas: domestic violence, pregnancy crisis, hi-jacking victims, HIV/AIDS, marital problems, rape, debriefing abused children, men and women, suicide, disaster issues, substance abuse, feeding distribution, crisis housing.
• To open offices at all Magistrate Courts and Towns, assistance already given at the Verulam Magistrates Court. A crisis centre in Verulam and Umhlanga Rocks is available on 24 hour call-out.
• Counsel, feed, clothe, teach, empower, supply medical support and short-term emergency housing for severely abused people.
• Counselling for the perpetrator.
• To offer educational teaching to pre-schoolers, teenagers and adults, who were and are disenfranchised.
