Our mission is to foster a creation of Holistic and Confidential couselling.

We provide superior advice, service and motivational therapy, as well as educational programmes to ensure suitable health awareness in our society at large.

We aim to develop the "Lighthouse Crisis Centre" into a highly respected health unit, thereby addressing the health needs of our community.

Always reminding us that "I am my brothers keeper"




Who Are We

"Lighthouse Crisis Centre" is a response to the need in the Northern Operational Entity area and surrounding communities for temporary, safe and caring shelter with counselling for Men, Women and children in distress.

The "Lighthouse Crisis Centre" is a fully furnished and equipped home with a live-in matron, Care Givers and in-house Project Leaders. This is backed up by trained cousellors and professional services.

"Lighthouse Crisis Centre" is situated in the area of Verulam which is north of Durban and is another project of "Peace Haven Community Services" established in 1996. The Centre works in close co-operation with and support of other related projects, organisations in the Kwa-Zulu Natal Province.

What We Do
  • Provide short term accommodation for Men, Women and Children in a Trauma or Crisis Situation.
  • Provide wholesome meals for all residents.
  • Offer supportive and morale building home enviroment.
  • Liase with relevant departments, projects and organisations in the City and regions.
  • In-house debriefing and counselling with a professional backup service.
  • Offer basic skills training and development workshops in a well equipped lecture room.
  • Feeding of approximately fifteen thousand people per month through the division "Food For Life Ministries".

Domestic Violence, HIV/AIDS, Rape, Preganancy Crisis, Hi-Jacking, Suicidal Thoughts, Marital Problems, Substance Abuse.
