New Projects

Peace Haven Community Services is in the process of implementing 2 new projects in the community.

1. The property adjoining the Lighthouse Crisis Centre has been purchased for the purpose of building an HIV / AIDS orphanage and Hospice to house approximately 120 children between the ages of 1 and 12 years, who have been affected by this pandemic

Below a view of the property and surrounds, taken from the Crisis Centre.

Fundraising has begun in respect of this venture, but as Government funding is not available for such projects, this has been a slow process. To date a further R700,000-00 is still required to initiate and complete the building of the orphanage
We invite and encourage each person who reads this to become involved financially or in any other way possible and help our children to have hope where there was none and become partners with us.

2. Approximately 10 years ago the Verulam Prison was vacated and left standing empty. It is our desire and vision, to refurbish this solid old building and transform it into a lifeskills, training centre and tourism expedition, where disenfranchised people are uplifted back into society as useful and self disciplined components, playing in turn a positive roll in the upliftment of their respective communities.

We believe that this project is necessary and beneficial to our community, whereby all who wish can be educated and trained, encouraging them to work or open their own small businesses.

Join with P.H.C.S to help our community to help itself and give meaning and purpose to thousands or people.

The building as it stands at present.
